    Katrina Hyland
    Head of K Fit

    Katrina has come from a performing background, having trained for her degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre at the Urdang Academy, London.

    After completing her course, Katrina found that her real passion is in teaching and keeping fit. In 2011, Katrina opened her first Zumba class at a local school hall, and hasn’t looked back.

    Now with many qualifications including Associate Dance Teacher, Exercise to Music and Kettlercise to name a few, Katrina leads the K Fit programme and endeavours to deliver a constant high level of fitness classes where everyone can be challenged and reach goals.

    Joanna’s background was in digital, but after having her children and suffering from stomach, lower back and hip issues she discovered the power and the love of mat based Pilates. She decided to turn her passion in to her career.

    Joanna is a level 3 Mat Pilates qualified instructor. Passionate about listening to what your body is telling you and responding to it in order to see results; whether those are postural, injury related or improving core strength and mobility. Her favourite thing about Pilates is that you can see benefits through even the smallest of precise movements and that everyone, no matter the skill-level, can take part.

    She plans on extending her knowledge in the near future with a course specialising in pre and post-natal Pilates, as her own experience has given her the desire to provide dedicated sessions to ensure mums-to-be and new mums can benefit from Pilates based exercises.

    Tasha comes from a dance background having trained for her degree in Dance at Ballet West, Scotland.

    After completing a nine month contract dancing and entertaining at a hotel in Cyprus she wanted to try something different and her love for fitness seemed like the way to go.

    She is now a qualified Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and kettlebell and circuits Instructor.

    She is excited to join the K Fit team!

    Sarah has been a member of K Fit classes since the beginning, and has been on an incredible fitness and weight loss journey of her own. Through this time she has discovered a passion for exercise and clean eating, and is now ready to share this passion with everyone!

    ‘A few years ago I found myself in a really bad place. I had always been big but after years of trying every diet going I was bigger than I had ever been. Worse still my general health was in shatters. Something had to change.

    I decided to go back to basics and teach myself about eating healthy, nutritious food. Alongside this I started exercising, trying many of Katrina’s classes and found that Kettlercise was my favourite. Slowly but surely the weight started to come off and now I have currently lost six stone and counting.

    Along the way I became more and more passionate in how various foods can affect our health. I gained a Diploma in Advanced Sports and Exercise Nutrition and plan to complete further courses in the future.’

Fitness Photo (and video!) Challenge Day 9! 📸🎥

I’m going to break the rules on this one and explain it, because I feel it deserves it. Alongside all my K Fit classes I also teach for an amazing company called Bedazzle Inclusive Theatre (find their page at BiT by BiT). We teach performing arts to adults with learning disabilities and these guys always remind me that I should be less self-conscious and just express myself. This group also teach me on a weekly basis how to be a better teacher and to have a higher level of patience and understanding.

While they really are their own individual personalities they are also the fiercest and most loyal team. While I work hard to grow K Fit I will always always have time for this group.
