K Dance and Fitness is formed of 2 clubs in St. Neots – the Katy North Academy of Dance and Cheer, and K Fit.

The two clubs were combined in September 2014, however the friendship of the clubs has been established for much longer…

Katy and Katrina both found their passion and each other’s friendship at the Katy North Academy of Dance and Cheer (formerly known as LA Dance Club) when they were going through their school years.

After a few years of separation where the girls studied in different areas, they were reunited again in September 2011.

By this time Katy was managing LA Dance Club and Katrina was a trainee dance teacher and running Zumba classes at a local school hall.  Since then both girls have worked hard to develop their businesses to provide a variety of classes for the community.

As the businesses grow and the strong friendship blossoms, you always need to keep an eye on what the girls’ next aspirations are!

    Katrina has come from a performing background, having trained for her degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre at the Urdang Academy, London.

    After completing her course, Katrina found that her real passion is in teaching and keeping fit. In 2011, Katrina opened her first Zumba class at a local school hall, and hasn’t looked back.

    Now with many qualifications including Associate Dance Teacher, Exercise to Music and Kettlercise to name a few, Katrina leads the K Fit programme and endeavours to deliver a constant high level of fitness classes where everyone can be challenged and reach goals.

    Katy has been a loyal member of her local dance school all her life. Having been a student herself at LA Dance Club (formerly owned by Lynn Armsby), Katy was one of the first to be trained as a dance teacher among her peers.

    It wasn’t long before Katy’s passion for teaching flourished, and she was titled Manager of LA Dance Club. Alongside her teaching aspirations, Katy also studied for her degree in Dance at Bucks University.

    In 2013, Lynn Armsby handed the reins of the dance school over to Katy, where she now sits as Principal of the Katy North Academy of Dance and Cheer. Katy’s dance school is welcome to children of all ages and abilities and focuses on giving everyone the opportunity to find a hobby for life.

    Tasha comes from a dance background having trained for her degree in Dance at Ballet West, Scotland.

    After completing a nine month contract dancing and entertaining at a hotel in Cyprus she wanted to try something different and her love for fitness seemed like the way to go.

    She is now a qualified Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and kettlebell and circuits Instructor.

    She is excited to join the K Fit team!

    Sarah has been a member of K Fit classes since the beginning, and has been on an incredible fitness and weight loss journey of her own. Through this time she has discovered a passion for exercise and clean eating, and is now ready to share this passion with everyone!

    ‘A few years ago I found myself in a really bad place. I had always been big but after years of trying every diet going I was bigger than I had ever been. Worse still my general health was in shatters. Something had to change.

    I decided to go back to basics and teach myself about eating healthy, nutritious food. Alongside this I started exercising, trying many of Katrina’s classes and found that Kettlercise was my favourite. Slowly but surely the weight started to come off and now I have currently lost six stone and counting.

    Along the way I became more and more passionate in how various foods can affect our health. I gained a Diploma in Advanced Sports and Exercise Nutrition and plan to complete further courses in the future.’

    Lynette Daffern

    Lynette’s background is in education, having been a classroom teacher she is now excited to apply those skills to fitness classes.

    She is a qualified and experienced babywearing peer supporter and a qualified fitness instructor. She is passionate about making exercise accessible to parents and carers without requiring additional childcare. Lynette loved doing postnatal exercise classes with her two babies and wants others to experience the bonding and happy hormones these classes can provide.

    Lynette also enjoys participating in KFit’s Burlesque Fitness and Pilates classes.
